Of all the services an individual performs in their lives, the greatest are those done for the Supreme Buddha or to a disciple of the Supreme Buddha.

Mahamevnawa Buddhist Meditation Monastery of Melbourne was established in 2008 with the sole aim of spreading the teachings of the Supreme Gauthama Buddha. It currently conducts monthly Sil programs, Children’s and Youth Programs, monthly Dhamma programs at a number of external venues, programs commemorating Vesak, programs during and at the end of the rainy retreat (Vassana) period, weekly Dhamma sermons, monthly meditation programs at the monastery, specially arranged Dhamma sermons and chanting of suttas blessing the devotees at their homes thereby carrying out a significant religious service on behalf of the community in Melbourne.

Our service and your support

All the aforementioned activities are only possible due to generous donations made by you, and the community. Your donations go towards paying off the monastery mortgage, medical expenses of the resident Maha Sangha, insurance, visa and flight expenses, monastery telephone & electricity use, monastery maintenance, and other development costs, all of which are integral components of running this monastery.
In order to accomplish our aim of continuing our religious services as well as developing all physical aspects of the monastery, a method through which the public can conveniently make regular donations has been made. This method involves a subscription to a Yearly Donation schedule,

The options are outlined below:

– Yearly donation of $300 (If paying monthly, $25.00),

– Yearly donations for a total of $600 (If paying monthly $50.00)

– Yearly donations for a total of $900 (If paying monthly $75.00)

Any date can be selected to make the donation/s, with the provision that your date has not been taken by another donor. After the date has been selected, the monastery will email you a letter acknowledging the donation and share its merits with you. By subscribing to the yearly donations, you too can become a stakeholder in the development of the monastery and reap immense merits in your life.
